TREATMENTS

There are several different brands of neurotoxins available in the market. Dr Unnati uses the brand Botox®. Neurotoxin treatments, such as Botox®, are non-surgical cosmetic procedures that involve the injection of a purified toxin to temporarily relax specific muscles. By blocking nerve signals, these treatments reduce muscle activity in targeted areas, providing both aesthetic and medical benefits. Commonly used for smoothing wrinkles, enhancing facial features, and treating conditions like excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) or teeth grinding (bruxism), neurotoxin injections are minimally invasive and offer quick results with little to no downtime. They are widely popular for their ability to achieve natural-looking improvements while maintaining facial expressions and functionality.

FAQ'S

1

What is Botox Used for?

Botox® is used to smooth existing wrinkles and prevent new lines by relaxing facial muscles. It primarily targets:

  • Upper face: Glabella (frown lines), forehead lines, and crow’s feet.

  • Lower face/neck: Lifts brows, treats bunny lines (upper nose), perioral lines (around lips), bruxism (jaw clenching), gummy smile, and lip enhancement. It also minimises chin dimples and platysmal bands (neck lines).

  • Additionally, Botox® reduces excessive sweating, especially underarms (axillary hyperhidrosis).

What does Botox involve?

Botox® treatment, performed by Dr. Unnati, begins with a consultation to assess your needs. The procedure uses Botulinum Toxin A, which only affects the targeted muscle, leaving the body and central nervous system unaffected.

By temporarily blocking nerve signals to specific muscles, Botox® relaxes the skin and softens wrinkles. Untreated muscles remain active, ensuring natural facial expressions.

The procedure involves small injections with a fine needle, takes just a few minutes, and requires no anesthesia. You can resume normal activities immediately after treatment.

How soon should you notice a difference?

After Botox® treatment, the muscles will begin to relax over a period of 3-14 days. A further treatment may be needed at 14 days to maximise the anti-wrinkling effect. The result will be a softer and more relaxed looking you.

Botox® treatment usually lasts between 3 – 4 months and can be repeated when needed. Most patients require less frequent treatments over time as the muscles ‘re-train’ and weaken from disuse.

All clinical procedures carry some risk, so non-surgical cosmetic treatments should be performed by a qualified doctor. Dr. Unnati, a GP and Non-Surgical Aesthetic Physician, follows strict safety guidelines at Dr Unnati Clinic and provides a full consultation before treatment.
